Breve Biografia

Sono un fotografo e visual designer veneziano. Ho studiato alla Scuola di Fotografia e Arti Visive Riccardo Bauer ex Umanitaria di Milano. Ho collaborato con numerose agenzie in Italia e all'estero, sviluppando un approccio multidisciplinare nell'ambito del graphic design e della post-produzione, fino alla creazione di Kalthum, il mio marchio di design di autoproduzione.

Recentemente ho deciso di orientare il mio lavoro verso una visione della fotografia intima e autoriale.

Short Biography

I am a Venetian photographer and visual designer. I studied at the Riccardo Bauer School of Photography and Visual Arts (formerly Umanitaria) in Milan. I have collaborated with numerous agencies in Italy and abroad, developing a multidisciplinary approach across graphic design and post-production, eventually leading to the creation of Kalthum, my self-produced design brand.

Recently, I have chosen to orient my work toward a more intimate and authorial vision of photography.

Il progetto prende spunto da Autumnn leaves, celebre brano composto da Joseph Kosma su testi di Jacques Prévert. La foglia è metafora di una Venezia fragile, esposta al tempo e alle sue trasformazioni. Ma così come ogni caduta presuppone una rinascita, anche Venezia continua a rigenerarsi, mantenendo viva la propria identità.

The project draws inspiration from Autumn Leaves, the renowned song composed by Joseph Kosma with lyrics by Jacques Prévert. The leaf becomes a metaphor for a fragile Venice, exposed to time and its transformations. Yet, just as every fall implies a rebirth, Venice continues to regenerate itself, keeping its identity alive.

soft focus nasce come reazione ai cambiamenti che, nel tempo, hanno alterato l'intima natura della mia città, producendo in me un senso di alienazione verso quei luoghi che ho sempre chiamato casa. La fotografia è così uno strumento di riconciliazione e cura. La sfocatura assume un ruolo semantico fondamentale, stabilendo la distanza necessaria dal reale: la materia si attenua, il dettaglio cessa di imporsi e lascia spazio al colore, inteso come sintesi e metafora di un legame fragile, al riparo dalle trasformazioni del presente.

soft focus emerges as a response to the changes that, over time, have altered the intimate nature of my city, producing in me a sense of alienation toward the places I have always called home. Photography thus becomes a tool of reconciliation and care. Blur assumes a fundamental semantic role, establishing the necessary distance from reality: matter fades, detail ceases to impose itself and gives way to color, understood as a synthesis and a metaphor for a fragile bond, sheltered from the transformations of the present.

"Friûl" è un progetto che esplora un territorio di confine dove la presenza umana e la natura convivono in un equilibrio silenzioso. Le immagini raccontano un luogo sospeso, una dimensione aperta, in continuo divenire.

Al centro del lavoro c'è la scelta consapevole di una famiglia che ha deciso di vivere immersa in questo paesaggio. Una presenza che non si impone, ma si integra, aderendo a un ritmo più lento, in cui la quotidianità si sviluppa in dialogo costante.

"Friûl" is a project that explores a borderland where human presence and nature coexist in a quiet equilibrium. The images depict a suspended place, an open dimension in constant becoming.

At the core of the work is the deliberate choice of a family that has decided to live immersed in this landscape. A presence that does not impose itself, but integrates, attuning to a slower rhythm in which everyday life unfolds through a continuous dialogue.

Nelle immagini di questo progetto i colori scorrono, si sovrappongono, si contaminano, ridefinendo lo spazio visivo. Venezia viene restituita in divenire, non come forma stabile ma come somma di brevi processi visivi, a metà tra l'immedito passato e l'imminente futuro.

In the images of this project, colors flow, overlap, and intermingle, continually reshaping the visual space. Venice is rendered in a state of becoming—not as a fixed form, but as the sum of brief visual processes, suspended between the immediate past and the imminent future.

Un progetto che osserva una città sospesa tra la sua storia e un presente segnato dalle scelte delle amministrazioni che si sono succedute nel tempo.

Macerata appare come un luogo dal potenziale ancora in parte inespresso, dove le trasformazioni non hanno sempre trovato una direzione chiara. Le immagini cercano di restituire questa attesa, una città che sembra rimanere in una fase intermedia, in bilico tra ciò che è stata e ciò che potrebbe diventare.

A project that observes a city suspended between its history and a present shaped by the decisions of successive local administrations.

Macerata appears as a place with still partially unrealised potential, where transformations have not always followed a clear direction. The images seek to convey this sense of waiting—a city that seems to remain in an in-between state, poised between what it has been and what it could become.
